Fraunhofer FIRST offers support to its research and industrial partners in developing efficient computing technologies. FIRST's broad skill base enables it to engage in complex system engineering, providing its customers with analysis, modeling and simulation tools that enable them to understand, develop and control such systems. In software technology research FIRST looks at how software can be effectively designed and improved, and what tools can be used for this purpose in the development process. in July 2001, FIRST became a member of the Fraunhofer Information and Communication Technology group consortium.

With the Enabler object repository, FUJITSU is offering a platform for company-wide information management. FUJITSU's enterprise content management product Contentwiz controls the entire life-cycle of enterprise content providing content integration independently of its format and location. Being an active member of the JSR 170, which defines a "Content Repository API for Java Technology" FUJITSU plays a major role in standardization activities related to enterprise content management.

The "Technische Universität München" is one of Europe's leading universities in the field of informatics. At the chair for software & systems engineering 70 researchers work at processes for software development. Their main research areas are security critical embedded systems, the development of complex software systems, tool support, software architectures, and theorem proving systems. They concentrate on the application areas telecomunication, avionics, automotive, secure payment systems, and business informations systems. Chair owner is Prof. Dr. Manfred Broy.
